This is Lea. We got her this past Sunday and she is an INCREDIBLE dog! She is an 11 month old full blooded blue heeler, which means she is already house and kennel trained. YIPPEE!! Her previous owner was a very nice lady from Fairbanks that realized she didn't have the time that this little girl needed and decided to find her a new home. We are already so thankful for her, she is awesome with all of the kids and is going to make a great family dog. I had decided a couple of months ago that I really want to have a dog around here for the kids. Our neighbors have had bear tracks in their yard the last couple of summers and our neighbors behind us also told us that they had seen 2 bears on their property, so I decided that I really want a dog to be outside with the kids when they are out there playing. Right now Nathan is taking her to work with him during the day to get her in shape (she's overweight for what a blue heeler should be) and if we find another dog that would be a better working dog for him then Lea will mostly be home with us. I tried to get a better picture of her sitting up so everyone could see what she looks like, but every time one of the kiddos goes near

her she just flops down on her back to have her belly rubbed! It was really cute yesterday, she was chasing Quaid around the living room and he was just cracking up. Jayna loves to pet her and Roanen thinks she's great as long as she's a few feet away from him. She's very intelligent and a super quick learner. We are having to break her of licking (it seems to be a problem that blue heelers have) and she is learning very quickly that if she starts licking, she doesn't get anyone to pet her. She has already learned "rest", which is what we say to get her to lay down. She even does it for Jayna, if Jayna can get her attention.
aww!! she's a pretty puppy!! and that's awesome that she's so good with the kids!!
