When Grandma and Grandpa Came to Alaska!

We had a lot of fun with Nathan's grandparents here for the last few days! They flew in from Arizona on Friday night (well, actually Saturday morning after lots of delays and other problems, they didn't get back here until almost 5:00 AM!) and they were here at our house until Tuesday night. We had a great time with them and the children really ate up the grandma/pa time! It became quite obvious that they really miss having that, they were just so excited to see them, even though they didn't remember them at all, but they ran right up to them and gave them hugs like they have seen them all the time! (We saw Grandma last when Quaid was about 2 weeks old and haven't seen Grandpa since our wedding, almost 7 years ago) Jayna and Quaid were standing in their "cowboy/girl stances" for this pic with Grandma. Roanen even learned how to say grandma while they were here (he's been able to say grandpa for a little while)
I took this picture the first day that they were here. Grandpa had brought a newspaper with him and as soon as the children saw it they asked him to make them newspaper hats. After a chuckle about how long it had been since he'd been asked to do that, he obliged their request and then we snapped a pic of the finished hats. We sure were blessed to have them come and and visit and we're so thankful for the time they spent here for us all to get to know them better. I know that my older two kiddos will remember this for a long time to come!
